Jig at 5 weeks ......                                and at 13 months (photo by Di Renny)...

..... at 3 years (photo Julie Revill)

Jig is our foundation bitch and our first champion WSS. She has a wonderful laid back temperament and is the softee of our dog family. Jig has had 3 litters and  has  produced excellent quality puppies, including 2 champions, and CC/ BOB winners and RCC winners. She had retired from the show ring after maternal duties and enjoyed her time training for the field and pottering about the house - but has now re-entered the ring as a veteran and made a big impact !

In her first 4 shows she has won the veteran class each time (including Best Veteran in Show at the Breed Championship Show), 3rd in the Veteran Stakes at City of Birmingham Championship Show, the Reserve Challenge Certificate (to her daughter Ruby) at Richmond Championship Show and Reserve Best Bitch (again to Ruby) at Darlington Championship Show and also shortlisted in the Veteran Gundog Group ! Phew , quite a return. Unfortunately I had only entered her for the 4 shows to see how she got on and if she enjoyed it. Which she does - she loves being back in the ring and is showing her socks off. I will enter her for some more shows in 2012.

In her first litter she has produced 3CC winners including her newly crowned daughter Sh Ch Bushwacker Atomic Kitten. 2 from this litter have won Best of Breed at Championship Shows and another gained a CC in South Africa (Bushwacker Bucks Fizz).

Bushwacker Atomic Kitten has followed in her mother's footsteps to win Best in Show at a Welsh Springer Spaniel Club show and also has 3 Reserve Best in Shows at WSS club shows in 2009 & 2010.

Another daughter (Bushwacker Bewitched)  is returning to the ring after her own litter and we hope she will follow in the footsteps of her siblings. She has already gained a RCC this year.

From her second litter we have kept 2 pups who are very lightly shown but both qualified for Crufts at their first championship show outing. Another bitch from this litter lives with Debbie Boumont of the Roxdale WSS.

From her third litter Bushwacker Hot Pursuit went to Australia where he has been very successful in a short time, gaining CC's, BPIB and Puppy Groups and is currently topping the WSS 'Rising Star' league (for dogs up to 18 months of age). He has now qualified as a Show Champion at 12 months of age.Two of his sisters are being campaigned in the UK - Bushwacker Hot Gossip who has stayed with us and Bushwacker HotSpot who is owned by Ann Lyon.

Jig is from Highclare and Ferndel lines. We realise we are very fortunate to have such a well bred bitch to start our line of Bushwacker WSS. At Crufts 2006 her mum (Sh Ch Highclare Queens Logic) won the bitch Challenge Certificate and her dad (Sh Ch Ferndel Maverick) won the dog Challenge Certificate and Best of Breed. He then went on to win the gundog group. Her mum finished up top WSS 2006.

Jig  herself was BIS at the WSSC Championship Show in 2007 (from an entry of over 200 wss) where her daughter Ruby was BPB at 8 months of age.

As a puppy Jig  met with considerable success in the show ring. Her many wins include BPIS at the SEWSSC open show as well as many 1st places at championship shows and Best of Breed and group placings at Open Show level. She was also Newark and Notts Match Dog of the Year in 2005 and won every match she attended there whilst, training for the show ring!

In 2008 she was Best in Challenge at a match between the Welsh Springer Spaniel Club, The South Eastern Welsh Springer Spaniel Club and the Welsh Springer Spaniel Club of South Wales.

Jig, far right, at the Chairman's Challenge 2008 - a friendly match between the WSS clubs.

Jig won her first CC and Best of Breed / Best in Show at the 2007 Welsh Springer Spaniel Club show from an entry of 204 WSS. Her second in 2008 at Midland Counties Championship Show. Her crowning CC, which made her a Show Champion, was won at West of England Ladies Kennel Association in April 2009. Jig also has 4 Reserve Challenge Certificates at Bournemouth and Belfast Championship shows in 2006 and at Driffield and East of England Championship shows in 2008.

We remain eternally grateful to Gill Tully for allowing us to have Jig and for her continued support.

Jig's Show wins
